Venus, Jupiter and the Moon in the southwestern sky around 5:30, December 1st. It's a very unusual, bright event, which this picture does not really convey. Check it out for yourself, if you are in the right part of the world. By the way, the stars are all really very bright out here. They can even be a little startling in their density and intensity.

Yes, we attended this event also, it was a lovely evening, at a time I'd normally be gardening, but HEY, it's December. Only 18 more days 'til the days get longer...momsla
